Dangers of butane consumption.

What is Butane Gas? Butane is a highly flammable, colorless, odorless gas. Butane is a hydrocarbon, found in household and industrial products and is potentially intoxicating if deliberately inhaled.

How can it be misused? Butane is commonly misused by being inhaled directly through the mouth either from Butane Hash Oil, Dab, Wax Or by edibles.

Can butane be addictive? Yes! Consuming any levels of butane can be highly addictive.

Can smoking butane botanical oils cause cancer? Yes! Researchers have found Benzene and other potentially cancer-causing chemicals in the vapor produced by butane botanical oils.

Does butane have Toxic properties, Heavy Metals and RESIDUAL SOLVENTS? Yes! Butane is very potent with heavy metals and left over residual solvents. For example, butane from your lighter smells like rotten eggs. This is because butane is infused with Mercaptan to reduce the risk of long term leaks in the cans, tanks or lighters.

Mercaptan is a chemical that is linked to brain lesions, and not something you want to be ingesting regularly. When  Mercaptan / Butane is heated, it emits a highly toxic fume that can have long term or deadly effects.

What is Dimethyl Ether?

DME (Dimethyl ether) is a clean, colorless gas that is easy to liquefy and transport. Chemically speaking, DME is the simplest ether compound, with a chemical formula of C2H6O. DME can be derived from many sources, including renewable materials (biomass, including waste from paper and pulp mills, wood, or agricultural products) and fossil fuels (natural gas and coal). DME has been used for decades in the personal care industry (as an environmentally benign propellant in aerosols), as DME is non-toxic and is easily degraded in the troposphere. Dimethyl ether is a low-temperature organic solvent and extraction agent by its low boiling point (−23 °C (−9 °F)) and its purity of gas, unlike Butane with its boiling point to be 30°F and all the toxins, heavy metals, and its residual tastes and smells.  Dimethyl Ether is much more effective extracting solvent and should be considered to be the industry standard.

How can it be misused? Dimethyl ether cant be misused. No negative effects to the exposure of the vapor or liquefied gas. It can however cause frostbite/harm or irritation to your skin or eyes if direct contact is made.

Can Dimethyl Ether be addictive? NO! Consuming Dimethyl Ether will not be safe but it is not addictive. Can smoking DHO Cause Cancer? NO! Researchers have “A two-year inhalation study and carcinogenicity bioassay at exposure levels of up to 20,000 ppm showed no compound-related effects…, no signs of carcinogenicity…, and no evidence of mutagenicity or teratogenicity in separate reproductive studies. Based on all these studies, the product have been approved by the Dupont Company for general aerosol use, including in personal products.

Short Term Side Effects

Immediate side effects that may occur include:

  1. Confusion
  2. Dizziness
  3. Lack of coordination
  4. Unconsciousness (Rare)
Long Term Effects

No long term effects to be shown.

Withdraw Symptoms

There is no withdraw symptoms.

Cancer Causing Agents In DHO

In recent studies it has been proven to be NON toxic, and relatively safe to the human body. No cancer causing agents to be found in any lab study.
